Update 14 December 2010 – Well it seems that a lot of the complaints that I have had about the Incredible connection site have actually been resolved, well done.

I have complained about the Incredible Connection website for a while to friends and co-workers. The problem is that when it was redeveloped it worked perfectly in Internet Explorer, but it didn’t in in Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari. The menu at the top broke and didn’t display correctly. That has now been fixed. Well almost :-)

When you do a search, I did one for HP, you need to type in HP and then click the “GO” button.

This doesn’t work if you hit the Enter key on your keyboard, the page just refreshes and reverts back to the http://www.incredible.co.za/Home.aspx page. This was very confusing initially as I am, and I am sure that many of you are, used to hitting the Enter key to post a search query.

In Firefox this happens to the main menu.

When we zoom in we see this on both sides of the menu. This doesn’t look cool.

And still there are some issues with the rendering.

In IE on the search page. The footer looks like this:

In Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome, the footer looks like this.

Now all this might not seem too bad, but I think the reason is more deep seated than that. When you Validate the page. You see this:

This means when IE releases IE 9 which they say will be more compliant with web standards, will the developers have to recode the website again?

On a SEO note. When you select say this:

You get to this page http://www.incredible.co.za/ProductsByCategory.aspx?Sub=8&Cat=3 This would not really help with SEO.

However, well done to the developers for updating the website so that people who don’t like IE, can use their preferred browsers.

On a quick note, before I wrote this, I decided to check my own website.

I was shocked as I thought that I coded my website correctly. Then I looked at the results.

It seems that the video I embedded to show that WordPress 3.0 was out on this post http://outsourcehouse.co.za/2010/06/18/wordpress-3-0-is-out/ did not have various options. Like SRC and Attribute Type and Width and many more. This irritates me as I like to have a clean test result. So I decided to check another page and it came out like this:

Please check your site Incredible Connection. We are on the world stage.
