Update 15 Feb 2011 : Well when we blogged about this website, with a cool sound track, we had no idea that Arcade Fire not 6 months later would win Album of the year @ the Grammys. They won album of the year for their album “The Suburbs”, which contains the song from the Wilderness Down Town website, We used to wait. Well done Arcade Fire. However not everyone seems excited about this : http://mashable.com/2011/02/14/who-is-arcade-fire/
This was tweeted by @aplusk and then retweeted by google. This Html5 demo, shows the power that html5 has in store for us. This works best in Google Chrome.
Basically goto this address : http://thewildernessdowntown.com/
Then you fill in the town that you grew up in.
Then there is a video of a man running, and then in a new window after a couple of seconds, there is a shadow of a man running through the town that you grew up in.
The soundtrack to this video is also very cool.
If you run it in Firefox Beta 4, it runs, but seems to take quite a while to start.
In Internet Explorer 8, gets to this page, and then no further.
Please check it out.
Update : After checking this out. I found some more great HTML5 demos
